Summary: Projects are the workhorses of your business. In order for you to get anything done, it must be done via a project. It also follows that every project must be therefore justified in terms of how it helps value.
When justifying products in terms of how they help value, if you can justify benefits to stakeholders, then the project is worthy of consideration.
You must choose the projects that will have the biggest impact on value.
In simple terms how will the project –
- Help us find out we can do something better
- Create something better
- Communicate something to more of the right people
- Communicate something better
- Deliver something better
- Support something better
- Monitor or measure what we do better
- Sustain what we do better
Where ‘better’ is anything that has a positive effect on functional, emotional, psychological, social, time, convenience or financial value, with a smaller resultant detriment – often cost.
So, the project might help you do things quicker, cheaper, easier, and so on.
